Greetings Colleagues,
NIH recently released their policy supporting the Next Generation Researchers Initiative with NOT-OD-17-101.
This initiative prioritizes Early Stage Investigators (ESI) and Early Established Investigators (EEI) applications and is designed to support these investigators as they compete for NIH grant funding.
ESI / EEI status is calculated using the dates of terminal research degrees or end of post-grad clinical training from an investigator’s eRA Commons personal profile. NIH urges researchers who want their ESI / EEI status recognized to confirm these dates are correct in their Commons profile.
Review key definitions of ESI / EEI and learn more from:

Thank you,
