Greetings Colleagues,

We’re hopeful congress will pass a continuing resolution which will keep the government solvent for a few more weeks beyond the current budget expiration date -- tomorrow, December 8.

In the event of a shutdown:

  •          Expect delays, lack of communication and support from federal agencies.
  •          Agency staff may not be available for approvals, support or administrative functions.
  •          Active grants and contract activity may continue if the shutdown is short, unless otherwise notified by the sponsor.
  •          Sponsors may decide to suspend application submissions.
  •          Federal agencies may temporarily stop making payments, the UW has funding plans to ensure research continues in the event of a shutdown.

We will provide more information and guidance, as it becomes available, as it relates to sponsored programs.

Thank you,

Carol Rhodes
