Happy Spring!! This newsletter includes information about the following: * State Inventories State Inventories The Equipment Inventory Office will begin to print inventories for State funded equipment on May 2nd and will mail them out to departments no later than May 6th. Inventories of equipment are required to be completed every two years. If you did not complete one last year, you should expect to receive a packet this year. Completed inventories of equipment are due no later than August 31, 2005. If you have questions, please contact Heidi Gustafson at Grant and Contract Accounting - Open House! Grant and Contract Accounting is making preparations for an Open House event, scheduled for Wednesday, June 1 from noon to 4pm. Campus is invited to stop by the Purchasing/Accounting Building (3917 University Way, N.E.), lower level, to meet with GCA team members, leaders and other supporting staff. Since the implementation of their new organizational structure at the beginning of 2005, Teams 1-6 have made great strides in outreach efforts with their customers and are looking forward to another opportunity to meet, chat, share ideas and respond to questions. Payroll Cutoff - June 30, 2005 To accomodate a number of tasks associated with civil service reform (CSR), salary revisions, biennium close and faculty reappointments, the final cutoff for the June 30, 2005 payroll has been scheduled for Friday, *July 1, 2005*. Moving the final cutoff to Friday will provide the extended weekend to complete the June 30, 2005 payroll and the additional processes associated with the July 1, 2005 changes. As a result, HEPPS, OPUS, and ESS will not be available from July 1, 2005 (5:00pm) until Tuesday, July 5th (8:00am). A new Faculty Effort Certification (FEC) training tool for use by departmental faculty and staff is now available on the FEC website at: http://www.washington.edu/research/maa/fec#visual Two versions of the FEC forms (one for faculty with clincal salary and one for faculty without clinical salary) describe the information on each part of the FEC form and provide direction on how to complete reporting. Any questions may Additional Payment Location for UW Tuition and Fees In addition to existing physical payment locations (e.g Schmitz Hall), the US Bank Branch in the HUB now accepts payment for UW Tuition and Fees (current deadline, April 15th). The office is open from 9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. A drop box located external to the branch is available during HUB open hours.
