NIH released notice of the increase in the Executive Level II Salary Cap on January 29th, 2024 (NOT-OD-24-057), with an effective date of January 1st, 2024.
Because of the delayed release of the cap from NIH, the new cap was not applied to payroll on impacted sponsored awards for the period of January 1st through January 15th, 2024.
Additionally, due to issues in setting up the cap in Workday, the updated cap was also not active for the pay period of January 16th through January 31st, 2024.
The new Executive Level II Salary Cap is now updated in Workday and is effective on applicable sponsored awards.
For impacted sponsored awards, payroll from January 1st through January 31st, 2024, will have the prior/old cap level applied in Workday. To charge applicable sponsored awards up to the new salary cap for either of the two January pay periods, a Payroll Accounting Adjustment must be processed.
