When financial aid is disbursed depends on several factors. If you’re eligible for your financial aid, have signed up for [direct deposit](http://finance.uw.edu/sfs/students/disburse) and all of your financial aid documents have been completed, it will be disbursed to pay charges on your student account several days before the beginning of each quarter. Any remaining aid will be sent electronically to your bank account at the same time and generally arrives in the bank account 1 or 2 business days before the first day of the quarter. If you are not able to use Direct Deposit, you will need to request that a check be mailed to you. Before requesting a check, verify with [MyUW](http://myuw.washington.edu) that you have either a credit balance or undisbursed aid available. Fill out the [Aid Check Request Form](http://finance.uw.edu/sfs/students/forms) to have your check mailed to you. If your request is submitted by 3:45pm Monday-Friday, the check will be mailed the same day. Requests received after 3:45pm, on weekends or on holidays will be mailed the following business day. If the quarter has already begun, aid is available as soon as it has been authorized on your student account. If your aid includes a student loan, all loan documentation must be complete and on file with the [Student Fiscal Services Office](http://finance.uw.edu/sfs/) before your loan proceeds are released. Contact the [Financial Aid Office](https://www.washington.edu/students/osfa/) with any questions about aid eligibility.
