Why am I being charged for something I don't use? How do I return my U-Pass and get a refund?

All registered and enrolled UW Seattle students who pay a Services & Activities Fee (SAF) recieve a Universal U-Pass and are required to pay the fee, regardless of whether or not they choose to use it. The U-Pass program was in jeopardy of being eliminated due to unprecedented increases in transit costs. Following a two year long effort led by the Associated Students of the University of Washington (ASUW) and the Graduate and Professional Student Senate (GPSS), UW students themselves decided to maintain the program through a mandatory fee and proposed such to the UW Board of Regents. On May 12, 2011, the Regents voted to approve the proposal.
