Some loans have deferment options for those students who return to school after their loan goes into repayment. To see if you may be eligible for student deferment, visit the [Loan Repayment](http://finance.uw.edu/sfs/students/repayment) section of the [Student Fiscal Services](http://finance.uw.edu/sfs/students/) website.

Most long-term loans may be refinanced through consolidation. Consolidation loans are available through the [Federal Direct Consolidation Loan](http://loanconsolidation.ed.gov/index.html) program. For detailed information about eligibility and application procedures see their [Borrower Services website](https://loanconsolidation.ed.gov/AppEntry/apply-online/appindex.jsp), or contact them by phone at 1-800-557-7392.

My instructor added credits for me. Do I still have to pay the late change of registration fee?

The Registration Office charges $20 late change fee for changes made after the 8th day of the quarter. For all changes made within a day there is only one charge. If your instructor adds a class and you are charged a fee, you may ask them to send email to the Registration Office regoff@u.washington.edu asking to have the fee waived.

**Yes, you will need to file a student deferment request on your loan when you return to UW.** Your loan goes into repayment when you drop below half-time enrollment, excluding Summer Quarter. If you return to school at least half-time (6 credits for undergraduates), you should file a student deferment request with each of your lenders when you re-enroll.

MyUW will list the scholarships that the UW has received for you by the Friday before the quarter starts. Your individual scholarships will not be listed by name, but instead grouped by type of scholarship. You must be registered for classes for the current quarter before any funds can be released to your account. If you are not registered for the current quarter, the funds may be applied to a future quarter.
