Once you have read the guidelines, you may download the [Tuition Forfeiture](http://www.washington.edu/students/sfs/forms/forfeit_petn.pdf) form. Documentation is required for most petitions. Please check our [Petitions](http://finance.uw.edu/sfs/petitions) page for more information. Ensure you follow all the steps prior to turning your form in at Schmitz Hall, Room129.

Various regulations prevent us from sharing student account information with third parties, including parents, guardians and spouses. If you would like someone other than yourself to have online access to financial information, you must fill out an Online Information Authorization -- authorizing up to two other people to have online access. This form is available on [MyUW](http://myuw.washington.edu), from the tuition statement.

The purpose of the [technology fee](http://techfee.washington.edu/) is to recover the costs of providing and maintaining services to students that include: access to the Internet, World Wide Web, email, computers, multimedia workstations, labs, etc. The fee was authorized by the State Legislature and approved by the University's Board of Regents and the ASUW. The technology fee is part of your tuition.

I don't have an email address. How can I get information about my tuition account?

FAQ
If you do not have an email address on your UW record, you will be sent notices via postal mail rather than email tuition notices. However, we *strongly* encourage all students and/or parents to receive tuition notices via email as this is a cost savings to the UW and, by extension as a State University, to the taxpayers. You may add an email address at anytime to get your notices electronically via email: just login to [MyUW](http://myuw.washington.edu/) and use the selections under *Personal Services* to update.

How do I know if my financial aid or a refund has been direct deposited to my bank account?

FAQ
There are two things you will need to do: + Check on [MyUW](http://myuw.washington.edu/) under *Personal Services* to verify the direct deposit of funds. + Contact your bank to verify if the funds were deposited into your account. Note that it may take 2-3 business days after UW releases the funds for them to show up on your bank statement. To avoid any *insufficient fund* verify with your bank that the money is available before writing checks or using your debit card.

I haven't received my tuition bill. When are tuition bills mailed?

The University of Washington does not mail tuition statements. All tutition and fee statements are created electronlically and are available through [MyUW](http://myuw.washington.edu). This is your official billing statement. The University will send a message to your UW registered email account reminding you to check your tuition statement. The first reminder is emailed during the week before the quarter.

FAQ
You don't even need to come in to Schmitz Hall. Sign up for direct deposit via [MyUW](http://myuw.washington.edu/) *Personal Services*, and you'll receive a safe, secure transfer of aid funds (after payment of tuition and fees) directly to your bank account. Funds are generally available within three to four business days after you sign a loan document or by the beginning of the quarter (whichever is later).
