We support the UW community by providing accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, accounting support and sound stewardship of University assets. We steward the University’s financial resources through transparent reporting, effective oversight, and a commitment to service excellence.
Our goal is to ensure the University meets federal, state, and institutional requirements while enabling units across all campuses to carry out the UW’s teaching, research, and service mission.
Financial Reporting (FR)
We prepare and manage the University’s annual financial statements and external reporting, including State of WA reporting. Our team delivers timely, reliable financial information and partners with units across UW to support fiscal transparency and accurate financial information.
Capital Accounting Operations (CAO)
We oversee the proper recording and reporting through the lifecycle of capital assets—acquisition, tagging, capital construction, depreciation, and retirement. Our work ensures that UW assets are recorded accurately and managed in compliance with federal and state requirements.
Central Accounts Receivable (CAR)
We provide centralized billing and receivables management for departments across the University. Our team promotes consistent invoicing practices, supports collection efforts, and supports reporting of outstanding receivables. We provide cash application and federal letter of credit draw processes to ensure timely and accurate recording and collection of funds.
Accounting Compliance & Governance (ACG)
We develop accounting policies, maintain internal control standards, and provide training and guidance to help UW units remain compliant with federal, state, and institutional rules. Our team supports financial system integrity, foundation data model governance and accounting support to users of our financial systems. Our work strengthens financial integrity across the University.
