Overview
To ensure timely certifications and compliance with federal regulations and University policy, a new escalation process is in effect with respect to certification of Project Statements.
Standard Communication
Coordinators
Systems notifications will be sent to effort coordinators for statements which are still in the “Ready for Pre Review” status two weeks prior to the statement due date.
Certifiers (Principal Investigators)
PIs with statements “Ready for Certification” will receive system email notifications ten and five days prior to the due date, and again on the due date of the statement.
Escalation
Email communications will be sent to the applicable Deans for statements which are 30, 45, and 60 days past the due date.
After 60 days, grant worktags associated with uncertified Project Statements will be placed in “Restricted” status in Workday, preventing any additional spending. The restriction will be removed upon certification of the applicable Project Statements within ECC.
Initial notifications will be sent for statements which are already 60 days or more past due and require immediate attention/certification in order to avoid worktag restrictions.
Exclusions
Recertifications and APL project statements are not included in this escalation process.
