Professional Development

FPB Professional Development

Professional development is a wide variety of training, formal education, informal learning opportunities, and advanced professional learning intended to support staff in enhancing and building professional knowledge, competence, skill, and effectiveness. Professional development aims to keep you up-to-date on current trends and help you develop new skills.

The FPB Professional Development program identifies the training required for each role and allows employees to design their personalized development plan with their manager.

Eligibility

All full-time employees in FPB are eligible to receive training, which is considered part of an employee's total compensation package. Each employee may receive up to 24 hours of training per quarter outside of basic employee training, with travel costs covered per UW Travel Office policies. Training over 24 hours may be approved by the Assistant/Associate Vice President (AVP) only if the training is determined to be required for the employee's successful accomplishment of assigned work.
