FAQ
Yes, you are expected to sign up for [direct deposit](http://f2.washington.edu/fm/sfs/students) to ensure that your funds are made available to you as soon as possible. Your tuition and most other charges will be deducted before any money is deposited to your account. In most cases, the excess funds will be available in your bank account within the first week or two of the quarter. **Always** check your bank balance before you write checks or use your debit card. Most businesses and organizations, including UW, charge an *insuffcient funds* fee for bounced checks.

The [tuition due date](http://finance.uw.edu/sfs/tuition/duedate) is the 3rd Friday of the quarter. Payments must be received in the Student Fiscal Services Office by 5 PM on the tuition due date to be considered on time. Payments received after 5 PM on the due date will receive a [late fee](http://finance.uw.edu/sfs/tuition/duedate). Tutition payments may be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week via [web check payment](http://finance.uw.edu/sfs/tuition/payment) (it's free!).

FAQ
More than likely, you got charged a *late change of registration fee* for making a change to your registration after the 1st week of a quarter. In general, changes to registration that occur after the 1st week of a quarter incur a change of registration service fee. Such changes include, but are not limited to: + adding or dropping a course + changing a course from credit to no credit + hardship or other withdrawl from classes
