What happens if I don't pay my short term loan as agreed?

If your STL is not paid in full by the due date, SFS will place holds on your ability to borrow future short term loans and these holds will not be removed until the account is paid in full. Additionally, the loan will be removed from the UW system and will be transferred to our billing servicer, ECSI.

No. The loan must be paid in full by the due date.

STL due dates are always the fourth Friday of the quarter following the quarter in which you borrowed the funds. For example, an STL borrowed in Autumn quarter will be due the fourth Friday of Winter quarter. STLs are always due in full by the due date.

What is the cost of borrowing a short-term loan (STL)?

There is a $30 fee for borrowing the loan. If the student chooses to utilize the one-time due date extension, an additional $30 fee will be assessed. There may be additional fees if the loan is not paid on time.

The Financial Fraud & Ethics Hotline is a simple way to report something that appears to be wasteful or illegal. Administered through an independent company, the Hotline is available 24/7, 365 days a year, and reports can be submitted anonymously online or via a toll-free phone line.

Students starting Autumn 2016 quarter, please update your current address on your MYUW account. Your bill will be available September 7th. If you are medical student or in the MEDEX program your financial aid will be disbursed around that time. The rest of the student population can expect their financial aid to disburse a few days before the start of the quarter. The start date of Autumn 2016 is September 28th 2016.
