Benefit Rates for Proposals Overview
Fringe Benefit rate estimates are available on the Financial Reporting page.
Multi-year sponsored program proposed budgets, may use the proposed rates to estimate costs, however the rates are subject to change.
Once the proposed rates are provided to Department of Health & Human Services Division of Cost Allocation for approval, they are available as “preliminary” rates on the Institutional Facts & Rates page and within the SAGE Budget module.
Previously this has happened in April or early May.
SAGE Budget Benefit Rate Functionality Correction
We mentioned it was possible to override benefit rates within SAGE Budget. This was incorrect.
On a main (sometimes, Parent) budget in SAGE Budget, users are required to use the officially published rates, or officially published preliminary rates. However, benefit rates can be customized for personnel on a sub budget of type Subcontract. Please contact sagehelp@uw.edu with questions.
