NIH Fellowship Child Care Allowance – Update

Q1: Do receipts need to be provided to NIH in order to request the funds?
A1: No, see the  NIH requirements for requesting the funds.

Q2: Do we need to have receipts in order for the UW to disburse the allowance to the fellow?
A2: Yes, in order for the UW to disburse the funds to the fellow, the fellow will need to provide a receipt (proof of payment) from the WA state licensed child care provider. More information from GCA is available on the  NIH Fellowship Childcare Allowance page.

Office of Research Personnel Changes

Q: Is there any hope of an online list where budget managers can look up an investigator and see all their IRB’s and statuses?
A: Budget numbers and eGC1 numbers are not captured in Zipline or the IRB applications, which makes this a challenging issue to address. Here are the current work-arounds:

Option 1: The budget manager can require the PIs to add the budget manager to all IRB applications as a Study Guest, which would allow them to see the applications and current status, including automatic notifications when new applications are submitted. Instructions are here: Manage Guest List

Option 2: Department administrators can email hsdinfo@uw.edu to request read-only access for studies in their department. Requests must come from the overall department administrator or department-wide manager. See Department Access for more information on setting up this process.

Thank you,
MRAM
