Greetings Colleagues,

Grants.gov will be offline from Friday September 23, 2022 at 12:01 AM ET through Thursday September 29, 2022 at 11:59 PM ET. Please plan early.

Impacts

All sponsors and systems that rely on Grants.gov will be impacted. This includes the NIH, NSF, Dept. of Defense, Dept. of Education, USAID, AHRQ, and others. Proposal submission systems impacted include Grants.Gov Workspace, ASSIST, Research.gov, and the UW’s Grant Runner feature in SAGE.

During this maintenance window, depending on the system used to prepare and submit proposals, users can expect disruptions in creating new applications, updating existing applications, checking for errors, submitting applications, and getting status updates. It is expected that progress made on applications started before the outage will be saved.

Grants.gov is working with agencies to adjust receipt dates, closing dates, and deadlines to accommodate their downtime.  To accommodate the volume of proposals, we strongly encourage routing proposals as early as possible. Continue reading for specifics on internal GIM 19 deadlines.

More from Grants.gov on:

Federal Sponsors with Due Dates During the Outage

For any sponsors who may still have due dates that fall within the outage window. Please consider 9/19 at 5PM as the GIM 19 deadline. This allows the UW to submit prior to the outage.

NIH Due Dates That Moved to 10/03

NIH moved many of their due dates that fell within the outage window to 10/03. This gives applicants, such as the UW, only two business days to submit after the outage.

Please ensure the GIM 19 deadline is met (e.g. send in draft proposal seven business days ahead of sponsor deadline and the Ready To Submit proposal by 9/27).

We anticipate we’ll have a high volume of UW proposals batched for submission on 9/30 and 10/3, and therefore GIM 19 waivers cannot be entertained.
