Dear Research Community,

As you know, with the upcoming launch of UW Finance Transformation (UWFT) in July 2023, many research administration processes will be streamlined.

As a reminder, SAGE Budget will be required at the time of award setup starting in July 2023 to streamline the award setup process. Refer to the following resources to get started using SAGE Budget (SAGE Budget will not be required for proposal budgeting).

Attend a SAGE Budget Class

If you are new to using SAGE Budget, register now for an upcoming SAGE Budget class on September 28 or November 1.

SAGE Budget classes are typically offered quarterly through CORE. Stay tuned–we will share additional class dates via email, the Monthly Research Administration Meeting (MRAM), and post to the UWFT for the Research Community webpage as they become available.

NOTE: Availability on the class registration page refers to the number of open seats (i.e., the figure 20 of 20 Wait List seats indicates that there are 20 seats available for registration, not that 20 of 20 seats have been filled).

Review Online SAGE Budget Training Resources

  • SAGE Budget User Guide: In-depth documentation on all aspects of SAGE Budget.
  • SAGE Budget Job Aid: A step-by-step guide on creating and managing budgets in SAGE.
  • SAGE Budget Training Site: The SAGE Budget training site offers a “sandbox” for you to explore and experiment with SAGE Budget without affecting production data. Once you are ready to create a real SAGE Budget for routing, visit the production site.

NOTE: SAGE Budget requires a UW NetID to log in and at least one authorized role. If you are new to using SAGE and need access, visit Accessing SAGE for more information.
