NIH: reporting requirement in ClinicalTrials.gov for Basic Experimental Studies with Humans (BESH) delayed
With NIH Notice: NOT-OD-19-126, NIH has delayed the requirement for reporting results of basic research on human studies in ClinicalTrials.gov until Sept. 2021. This delay only applies to studies designated as “basic experimental studies with humans” (BESH) in the title of the funding opportunity.

We are excited to introduce the Certificate Planning Guide webpage. Use this to set up a plan for your progression through the Certificate. The Guide outlines required and elective courses and provides links to other information pages and registration. This is a preliminary step to the launch of the Certificate coming this Fall.

NIH: Upcoming July 5th Due Date Reminders
The NIH R01 and U01 renewal, resubmission, and revision due date is July 5th.
This is typically a high volume deadline for the UW and this year it falls on a Friday after the 4th of July holiday.

I am so pleased to inform you that MyResearch Search is available! https://myresearch.washington.edu/ Please join us in Alpha testing the new feature.
It is in Alpha phase, so it may not be perfect yet. We want to hear all about it. Please use the "Not finding what you're looking for?" interaction to tell us about your experience using Search and the search results. We will be iterating rapidly on your feedback.
Royalty Research Fund Announcement - Autumn 2019
Members of the UW Research Community:
This is to announce the Autumn 2019 round of the Royalty Research Fund (RRF) grant program. The RRF proposal submission and review process is electronic - all proposals are submitted using SAGE (System to Administer Grants Electronically). Proposals are due Monday, September 30, by 5:00 PM. Awards will be announced by January 15, 2020.
2020 Benefit Rates Available
Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 fringe benefit rates (i.e. payroll load rates) are available in the Benefit Rate Table and within SAGE budget.
To apply the new rates to a SAGE Budget in progress:
- Go to the Properties tab of your SAGE budget
- Scroll to Benefit Rates and choose “Use Preliminary Budget Rates”
- Click “Update Benefit Rates”
Use these rates on multi-year sponsored program proposal budgets to best reflect anticipated costs.
