Preliminary Fringe Benefit Rates for fiscal year 2026 are available in SAGE, as well as in the Fringe Benefit Rates table.
These rates reflect estimated employee benefit costs to be incurred by the UW in fiscal year 2026. Use these updated rates on multi-year sponsored program proposal budgets to best reflect anticipated costs.
Final 2026 benefit rates will be published around June 30, 2025. We will let you know when those final rates are available.
Updates to GIM 3: Fringe Benefit Rates and Sponsored Programs have also been published.
Apply updated benefit rates to a SAGE Budget in progress:
Go to the Budget Settings on the left navigation, expand the Data & Calculations section, choose “Preliminary” benefit rates and select the “Refresh Benefit Rates” link.
If you need to use FY25 rates for your budget, choose “Current” as your rate type in budget settings. If current FY25 rates are needed only for a single period, choose “Preliminary” rate type for the overall budget, then adjust just that period’s rates as necessary directly in the personnel entry details for each person listed that period.
