Greetings Colleagues,

On 8/15/2025, NIH announced they will stop posting Notices of Funding Opportunities in the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts.

Beginning in October, at the start of the federal fiscal year 2026:

  • All NIH Notice of Funding Opportunities (NOFOs) will remain searchable on Grants.gov.

  • NOFOs will no longer be included in the weekly NIH Guide Table of Contents subscription emails.

  • NIH recommends using the Grants.gov subscription services to receive notifications of new NIH funding opportunities.

Review NIH's Updates to Finding NIH Funding Opportunities and Information for more tips on finding and searching NIH NOFOs after 9/30/2025.

OSP Reminders for NIH Application Preparation

  • We highly recommend you prepare your NIH applications in Grant Runner or NIH's ASSIST.

  • Grant Runner and ASSIST both automatically run NIH validation checks when an application is moved to “Ready for Submission” status.

    • Grants.gov Workspace does not automatically run these NIH validations on an application.

  • If you are preparing NIH multi-component applications, you must use ASSIST. Grant Runner and Grants.gov Workspace do not support these applications.

Thank you,
The Office of Sponsored Programs
