Greetings Colleagues,
The GIM 2 sections on Signature Delegation and Limits of Delegation have been edited to provide more clarity around the policy that the PI must approve all subaward invoices. This has been a requirement within GIM 2 for some time. This update does not change the policy, the edits are to help clarify this requirement.
Greetings Colleagues,
The February 11th MRAM materials are published for your review. Q&A from our session are included for reference and will be available with the other meeting materials shortly.

Greetings MRAM members,
Please join us on Thursday for February’s MRAM! You will find we have a fairly short agenda this month but the topics are important and may generate some great questions. We will be remote hosting the usual webcast of MRAM.
The estimated Fiscal Year 2022 fringe benefit rates (preliminary rates) are available in the Benefit Rate Table and within SAGE budget.
The 2021 Consolidated Appropriations Act increased the EL II Salary Cap Limitation increased from $197,300 to $199,300 effective January 3rd, 2021.
We highly recommend using the Full Institutional Base Salary (IBS) when calculating salary requests in proposals. Review Documenting Salary Cap on Proposal Budgets for more information.

Greetings Colleagues,
Thank you for your patience. It has been brought to our attention that a couple of updates and a correction were needed to the Q&A in the China Telecommunications Restriction section.
A presentation on Executive Order 13950 Combating Race and Sex Stereotyping was made at the October 2020 MRAM. This Executive Order would, among other things, have prohibited the inclusion of concepts such as critical race theory, systemic racism and racial bias in diversity training programs. While UW’s position has always been to continue to engage in diversity work and to remain committed to building a more equitable community and world, it was unclear how EO 13950 might eventually affect diversity training specifically.
