The NIH R01 and U01 renewal, resubmission, and revision due date is July 5th.
This is typically a high volume deadline for the UW and this year it falls on a Friday after the 4th of July holiday.
What this means for proposals with a July 5th sponsor due date:
I am so pleased to inform you that MyResearch Search is available! https://myresearch.washington.edu/ Please join us in Alpha testing the new feature.
It is in Alpha phase, so it may not be perfect yet. We want to hear all about it. Please use the "Not finding what you're looking for?" interaction to tell us about your experience using Search and the search results. We will be iterating rapidly on your feedback.
Members of the UW Research Community:
This is to announce the Autumn 2019 round of the Royalty Research Fund (RRF) grant program. The RRF proposal submission and review process is electronic - all proposals are submitted using SAGE (System to Administer Grants Electronically). Proposals are due Monday, September 30, by 5:00 PM. Awards will be announced by January 15, 2020.
Fiscal Year (FY) 2020 fringe benefit rates (i.e. payroll load rates) are available in the Benefit Rate Table and within SAGE budget.
To apply the new rates to a SAGE Budget in progress:
Use these rates on multi-year sponsored program proposal budgets to best reflect anticipated costs.
In compliance with the Washington State Administrative and Accounting Manual Chapter 90 on fiscal year-end reporting policies and procedures, University of Washington must submit invoices or estimates for all services rendered on Washington State-funded awards through June 30 by July 19, 2019. Any expenditures not billed or included in an estimate letter by this deadline will most likely not be reimbursed by the State.
Effective May 1, all UW personnel who work in animal care and use environments must complete at least one animal use health screenings (commonly referred to as AUMS or AHA).
eRA Commons has fixed the issues with publications for RPPRs and xTRACT.
You may now submit RPPRs that include publications
NIH Salary Cap 2019
Effective January 6, 2019, the Executive Level II salary (previously set at $189,600) was increased to $192,300. For awards issued in years that were restricted to Executive Level II including competing awards issued in FY2019, if adequate funds are available on active awards, grantees may rebudget to accommodate the most current Executive Level II salary level of $192,300. However, sponsors will not provide additional funding to cover the increase in the salary cap threshold for existing awards.
The NIH eRA communications office is continuing to have intermittent issues with the submission of RPPRS that include publications. They have also had issues with publications in xTRACT.
eRA is currently working to resolve the issue. We will send an update when more information is available.
In the meantime, we recommend you do not submit any RPPRs that include publications until this is resolved.
Thank you,
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP)
