Merchant Timeline

Timeline for credit card terminals: During week one the merchant ID application is submitted, during week 6 to 8 your merchant ID is delivered. In week 7 merchants are able to place terminal orders which are then set up and delivered between weeks 7 to 9. Timeline for TouchNet: during week one the merchant ID application is submitted and your TouchNet Information form is submitted, by week 6 your TouchNet test site is completed. Between weeks 6 and 8 your Merchant ID is delivered. By weeks 7-9 your TouchNet site is set up and live.

Step 1 | PCI Compliance 

All financial transactions processed by the University of Washington are required to be in compliance with the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standards (DSS).  To become a new credit card merchant, you are required to review the below statements: 

Step 2 | Review Fee Structure 

Credit card processing fees include internal merchant and external processor fees. The fee structure page shows what fees your department/school will be charged when you begin accepting credit card payments.  

Step 3 | Become a Credit Card Merchant 

 Step 4 | Open a ClientLine Account 

When the Merchant Application is complete, you will need to utilize your Merchant ID to create a ClientLine account. There, you will be able to view your credit card transactions and monthly statements. 

 Step 5 | Subscribe to the UW Merchant Services Digest
