Merchant Services is governed by University Administative Policy Statement 35.1. This is the high level directive under which OMS produces standards and guidance to support that policy.
Standards are mandatory actions or rules in support of policy. Guidance are recommendations on best practice or processes which meet the requirements of published policies and standards.
- OMS Guidance: Becoming a Merchant: This process provides direction on how to become a University Merchant for accepting payment cards.
- OMS Guidance: Exemption Request: This process may be used to request an exemption for OMS policies, procedures or guidance.
- OMS Standard: Accepting Payment: This standard establishes the requirements for payment acceptance of all UW Merchants accepting payment cards. All prospective University merchants are required to comply with this standard.
- OMS Standard: Third Party Service Providers - PCI Compliance: This standard establishes requirements for all Third-Party Service Providers (TPSP) storing, processing, or transmitting payment card data on behalf of the University. All TPSP contracted by University merchants are required to comply with this standard.
- OMS Guidance: Third Party Service Providers: provides direction on how to request a new Third Party Service Provider (TPSP), the steps needed to implement a new TPSP, the review process Office of Merchant Services (OMS) follows, and ongoing responsibilities for the TPSP, merchant, and OMS.
- OMS Standard: Merchant Responsibilities: establishes the responsibilities required of all UW Merchants accepting payment cards.
