Merchant Services at the University of Washington is governed by both University Administrative Policy Statement 35.1. and Washington State law RCW 19.255. APS 35.1 provides the overarching policy framework under which the Office of Merchant Services (OMS) develops and implements standards and guidance for payment acceptance. RCW 19.255 establishes state-level requirements for managing security breaches affecting businesses and merchants.
Standards are mandatory actions or rules in support of policy. Guidance are recommendations on best practice or processes which meet the requirements of published policies and standards.
- OMS Combined Standards Document: This document collects all Standards and Guidance required to accept payment cards at the University of Washington. This supersedes all previous Standards and Guidance documents.
