UW Liability Coverage
Pursuant to RCW 28b.20.253 and .255, the University will provide legal defense and indemnification for employees acting within the course and scope of their duties and volunteer workers and students while acting at the direction or request of the University. Coverage for injuries to UW employees is provided through Labor and Industries (workers compensation). Injuries to Non-UW individuals and students should be submitted to their personal health insurance companies.

Coverage for Physical Damage to Rental Vehicle:
- The state contract comes with Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) & Loss Damage Waiver (LDW). Decline these insurances if reqested as an addon as they come with contract. All other liability coverage/addons are not reimbursable.

Coverage for Property Damage & Bodily Injury to Other Party:
Accident procedure:
- Follow Enterprise/National accident guidelines
- Call local police and complete an accident report
- Contact UW Risk Services for liability exposures (property damage or bodily injury to other party or parties) exceeding rental / personal auto insurance
Payment Source: Other Source of Payment
Coverage for Physical Damage to Rental Vehicle:
- The state contract comes with Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) & Loss Damage Waiver (LDW). Traveler should decline these at the counter as the contract already has them. Accept liability insurance for all foreign locations. All other liability coverage/addons are not reimbursable.
Coverage for Property Damage & Bodily Injury to Other Party:

- Follow Enterprise/National accident guidelines
- Call local police and complete an accident report
- Contact UW Risk Services for liability exposures (property damage or bodily injury to other party or parties) exceeding rental / personal auto insurance

- Personal auto insurance only - no UW coverage
Coverage for Property Damage & Bodily Injury to Other Party:
- UW's coverage applies after/is excess of the driver's personal insurance

- Call local police and complete an accident report
